The holiday season, with its festive feasts and sweet treats, can be a dangerous time for our furry friends. While it's tempting to share some of your holiday cheer with your dog, it's important to be aware of the foods that can be harmful to them.

Here are some common Christmas foods that are toxic to dogs:

Chocolate: Chocolate is toxic to dogs, especially dark chocolate. It contains theobromine, a substance that can be harmful to a dog's heart and nervous system.

Grapes and Raisins: These seemingly harmless fruits can cause kidney failure in dogs.

Onions, Garlic, and Chives: These belong to the allium family and can cause anemia in dogs.

Macadamia Nuts: These nuts can cause weakness, vomiting, and tremors in dogs.

Alcohol: Even small amounts of alcohol can be toxic to dogs.

Fatty Foods: Rich foods like fatty meats, gravy, and butter can lead to pancreatitis in dogs.
